Studies on the Compressibility and Shear Strength Behaviour of Fly Ash and Slag Mixtures

چکیده
This paper investigates on the mechanical characteristics (compressibility and shear strength) of fly ash/ground-granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) mixtures at various mix ratios using consolidation direct tests, respectively. The studies were done a reduced duration load increment. compressibility behaviour has been found to improve with increase in GGBS content. Direct test results showed an angle internal friction Microstructural SEM reveal insight information about effect particle morphology responsible strength behaviour. It is proposed from findings this investigation that ash/GGBS have utilisation potential construction embankments or structural fill which will undergo very small settlement.

Shear Strength Characteristics of Fiber Reinforced Fly Ash
Disposal of an industrial waste like flyash produced from burning of coals in thermal power stations requires a large land area. The decreasing availability of good construction site has led to the increased use of low lying areas filled up with industrial wastes whose bearing capacity is low. In-situ treatment of such industrial waste fills; in order to improve their bearing capacity with rein...
متن کاملInfluence of High Temperatures on Flexural Strength of Foamed Concrete Containing Fly Ash and Polypropylene Fiber
In this study, the elevated temperature flexural strengths of lightweight foamed concrete (LFC) containing fly ash (FA) and polypropylene fiber (PF) was investigated experimentally and statistically. The variables included were the temperature degrees (in a range of 20 to 600°C), LFC densities of 600, 800, 1000, 1200 and 1400 kg/m3 and additive content. Two mixes were made by replacing 15% and ...

1. to determine whether difference in birth body mass influenced growth performance in pipistrellus kuhlii we studied a total of 12 captive-born neonates. bats were assigned to two body mass groups: light birth body mass (lbw: 0.89 ± 0.05, n=8) and heavy birth body mass (hbw: 1.35 ± 0.08, n=4). heavier body mass at birth was associated with rapid postnatal growth (body mass and forearm length) ...
